Basics of science is a pure academic study for understanding and defining natural and life phenomena. However, the study of science is not only limited to nature and life in the 21st century; it pursues the application of science in the industrial sector based on practical scientific knowledge acquired from research activities.In accordance with the scientific trends of the 21st century, the Seoul National University of Science and Technology College of Energy and Biotechnology aims to teach and research applied sciences that explore natural and life sciences while simultaneously benefiting our country and society in practical ways.

College of Energy and Biotechnology comprised of 6 departments (Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Fine Chemistry, Optometry and Sports Sciences), the College of Energy and Biotechnology provides education and performs research on applied sciences adhering to real life and the industrial sector based on the understanding of traditional scientific studies of physics, chemistry and biology.

Students learn about how to apply practical basic science to actual problems and are educated to become outstanding science personnel equipped with solid scientific knowledge and field adaptability.

Characteristics of College of Energy and Biotechnology with 40 outstanding professors and 15 staff members, the College of Energy and Biotechnology also operates a Sports Science Research Center, Clean Technology Research Center, Nano-Bio Research Center, Bio-sensor Research Center, Functional Health Food Research Center and the Functional Food Nano Material Research Center to provide excellent research and education.
